Women vs Men

Hey everyone!!
I really enjoy this topic. A lot of people tend to have A LOT TO SAY ABOUT THIS:)
So my question is, why isn't everything in a house hold 50/50? I mean it's 2014! In almost every home man & woman work, but still only the woman has to cook? Clean? Take care of the children? Does this seem fair?!

No it doesn't. I've gotten into a lot of debates with people about this and sure if your wife wasn't working then it's ok to expect that from them, but what about the ladies out here who are working 5-7 days a week?! This is completely unreasonable.

Don't like washing dishes ? Nethier do I but it's gotta get done! Don't know how to cook? Me ethier, it's a learning process! Don't know how to clean? Bullshit everyone knows how to clean! Laundry? Easy!

And If you don't know how to do any of the things I listed then that's why we have google! I'm pretty sure about 90% of families have internet access daily!!!

I was raised by a single mother who did it all on her own, while still managing to give me everything I possibly wanted! She played mommy and daddy.. And guess what? I'm happy she did! Cause I enjoy working and making MY OWN money. I don't like using other peoples money even if he's my boyfriend. I've always been independent too.

All I'm saying is this is 2014.. Women are working twice as hard as some males . So no we shouldn't be expected to do EVERYTHING.

Thanks for reading ! Comment your opinions!!!

Daycare or SAHM?

Hey everyone... Id like to write a blog about daycare vs. being a stay at home mom.

I honestly don't know what I'm going to do with avah once i start work again in September... It's driving me crazy! I'm so insanely protective of her. It scares me that I might have to leave her in someone else's care while I work... I don't think I'm the only mom who experiences this though. But I've honestly started contemplating finding a way to stay longer with her... At least untill she can talk and tell me what's happening in daycare.

I've worked in daycare centres. Mommies let me be honest with you .. They aren't the nicest people to your children.. Some of them aren't nice at all.. I cannot tell you names because I signed a confidentiality form but I will tell you my experiences.

DayCare #1.
This was by far the worst day care setting I've ever worked in. The staff is rude, they fight with eachother constantly, and they treat the kids horribly. I worked in the preschool room and they didn't really care what the kids did, sure they told the parents other wise but when it came down to it, the parents were being lied to. God forbid a parent express something they think isn't right.. All hell would break loose. I mean as a daycare worker I always always felt that I need to treat the children like my own! Cause one day like now, I have a child and I would want the same respect. They Aren't good with changing diapers, they force the children to eat food they don't enjoy, they have set feeding times, so if your child was hungry outside the feeding times, that was too bad they'd have to wait.. There was an autistic little boy, sweetest boy you'd ever meet, and he always wanted love an attention. Only one of the daycare workers would give him it, the other ones would always treat him like crap.. This broke my heart... I honestly do not understand why people would get I to a career they don't enjoy!!!!

Daycare #2.
This daycare in my opinion was great. They took care of the children. The children had fun, and did so much stuff in one day! Now I was in one of the toddler rooms. They has about 7 different rooms in this day care center. I know quite a few people who have had a lot of problems with that day care... My room was great, but other rooms not so much.. They didn't change the children's diaper often, they used  children's diapers/creams&wipes for another child.. I'm sorry but that's very very wrong. If parents are paying for their child's diapers, creams and wipes they should be used on only that child! How fair is the fact that some parents buy pampers diapers worth 45$ a pack and others buying no name worth 10$? Not cool at all.

So these were my experiences.. This is why I'm doubting where I place my child.. Oh and watching the news makes me doubt it even more since I hear of innocent babies dying in home day care centres daily..

Anybody have advice on this? I mean it's pretty impossible for myself to stay home from work for another year.. They should make maternity leave 2 years like Portugal does.. But whatever.

The importance of play

Hey everyone !!!

As I mentioned in previous blogs, I did take my Early Childhood Education course in 2012-2013 never finished but I did about 14 courses including COOP!

So mommies, do any of you know how important play actually is?

Play is crucial for your child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. It's your child's way of learning about his/her body and the world, and they'll use all five senses to do it, especially in the first year.

Did you know your child might fall into a specfic catergorie of play?
Here's a list of them, with the explanation!

  • Unoccupied (play) – when the child is not playing, just observing. A child may be standing in one spot or performing random movements.
  • Solitary (independent) play – when the child is alone and maintains thifocused on its activity. Such a child is uninterested in or is unaware of what others are doing. More common in younger children (age 2–3) as opposed to older ones.
  • Onlooker play (behavior) – when the child watches others at play but does not engage in it. The child may engage in forms of social interaction, such as conversation about the play, without actually joining in the activity. This type of activity is also more common in younger children.
  • Parallel Play adjacent play, social coaction) – when the child plays separately from others but close to them and mimicking their actions. This type of play is seen as a transitory stage from a socially immature solitary and onlooker type of play, to a more socially mature associative and cooperative type of play.
  • Associative play – when the child is interested in the people playing but not in the activity they are doing, or when there is no organized activity at all. There is a substantial amount of interaction involved, but the activities are not coordinated.
  • Cooperative play – when a child is interested both in the people playing and in the activity they are doing. In cooperative play, the activity is organized, and participants have assigned roles. There is also increased self-identification with a group, and a group identity may emerge. Relatively uncommon in the preschool years because it requires the most social maturity and more advanced organization skills. An example would be a game of freeze tag.

Now are you curious to which toys are useful in helping your child learn?
Here's a list;
1.Blocks
2.Rattles
3.Stacking rings or blocks
4.Mirrors
5.Board Books
6. Sensory Shapes (I have sensory balls, it's a ball with texture, so the child can feel each groove and spikes)
7. Bright coloured toys

If you search the web you'll see each benefit these toys have! Trust me! These in the first years are very very important in child's play!

Stereotyping Young Mothers

Hey everyone,
Sorry I haven't written a blog in days... I've been kinda outta ideas on posts.

This blog I'm going to write is about people who Stereotype young mothers.

Everyone stereotypes someone at one point in their life, but ever notice how often young mothers get stereotyped?
If you shook your head or answered yes.. Your right we do.

The looks I got when I was pregnant were HORRIBLE. I was looked at like I was an alien from space.. I couldn't go to a mall, a resturant or even work without someone making a comment or giving dirty looks..
Why? Cause with a big belly I was automatically being stereotyped as a young and dumb teenager that wouldn't grow up and be a good mother..
What Id like for people to know is age doesn't define how good of a mother you'll be, or how much love you'll give your child.. Cause I'll be honest there are young mothers who don't give a crap about their children, and rather leave them with their grandparents and go out every weekend to party, BUT not all young mothers do this!!! I know a handful of young mommies that are with their child twenty four seven / 7 days a week! I never leave my daughter unless it's for like 2 hours to go shopping! I've been out once at night her whole entire 5 months of life !!! So should I be categorized under the young and dumb teenager that stupidly got pregnant ? NO!

P.s i am not saying that parents shouldn't go out, cause that isn't the case at all everyone needs time for themselves.

Apparently since we are young mothers, if our kid is crying something is always wrong. GOD FORBID your child starts crying in a mall, you'll be told your child is hungry and this and that . Yes strangers I'm so sure because your 40 and I'm 20 I have no idea why MY child is crying.. WRONG AGAIN! Just because you have more years on young mothers does not mean you know how to take care of my child... Cause let's face it, you don't.

Example: I was at Vaughn mills with my cousin Priti. We were both pregnant and she had her 8 month old with her. The baby started crying, cause you know BABIES CRY ITS NORMAL! Boy oh boy, the looks and comments we got.... An old man came up to us and said "he's hungry feed him".. Wait a second ? Last I checked she had it completely under control, and no he wasn't hungry he didn't wanna be in the stroller.. Stupid.
I forgot to mention, my cousin Does not fall into young mother categories, she 25 and people think she's like a teenager and can't Handel her kids...

Now, this is a time that I got really really upset.. I was on the subway, and in Canada, there are ALOT OF people WITH NO CONSIDERATION.. I got called a welfare case.. Oh look again, because I'm young I'm being stereotyped that I'm poor. Wrong. I've had a job since 14 and NO I DONT RECEIVE WELFARE! I don't get it just because I look young makes you think I don't have a job??? Before people judge you really should get to know the persons story.. Cause this situation affected me the most!! Knowing I've worked my ass off for my maternity leave, and I get called a welfare case.. Not cool

I'd just like to say that you should never define a mother by her age, that is not right. Yes it's hard, but it'll be just as hard when your 30! Motherhood doesn't get easier, it gets harder. Oh and if you have no kids please do not try and give advice on how to raise mine.. Just cause your older with a college degree doesn't mean you can tell me how to raise my child when you haven't tried raising yours yet.

Now I could go on and on about people who stereotype young mothers, but I will honestly be here untill 2025... So I will stop here! POINT IS: stop it. Just like judging and stereotyping other people is wrong. Young mommies don't deserve it!

My Tattoos

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't blogged I've been pretty busy! But in this blog id like to discuss my tattoos and the meaning behind them. I only have two so far, but I do plan on getting a couple more!

My first tattoo
Chinese Writting: Mother
I got this tattoo when I was 16! My mom had taken me to do our first tattoo together. I really wanted something that was very important to me. We had decided to mother and daughter tattoos! Mine is placed on the outside of my right ankle. It does need touching up since it's 5 years old already. But I love it.

My Second Tattoo
Quote; " fall seven times, stand up eight"
I got this tattoo about 2 years ago! This is a very very powerful quote to me. If you read my other blogs you'd know I was going through a lot of stuff in my teenage years. I always felt like giving up, running away from all the problems, doing whatever I could to get away from it, but after all that wouldn't fix anything. When I seen this quote a long time ago, it reminded me that no matter how hard life gets you always need to get back up. No matter how hard you fell.. No matter who was or wasn't there to catch you! Just get back up and try again. This tattoo is placed on my upper back.

So those are the only tattoos I have at the moment. I do wanna get my daughters name on my collar bone, very soon. Eventually I wanna get the rosary on my foot too (how original)! Lol I've always loved that tattoo but never had the balls to actually go get it!

If I could I probably would fill my whole body in quotes and look like a walking scripture, but I'm not going to do that!
